District Elder Tommie R Hughes
is a Senior Vice President at Morgan
Stanley where he has worked for over 30
years as a Financial Advisor. He currently
has his series 7, 63, and 65 registrations,
is licensed in Health, Life, Annuity and
Long Term Care Insurance, and advises
for private investors and corporations.
District Elder Hughes is active in the
community and his church Greater
Pentecostal Temple where he serves as
Associate Pastor, Treasurer and Trustee.
Bishop Marvin E. Donaldson is his Pastor
and Father in the gospel. It was under
Bishop Donaldson’s preaching and teaching where he was filled with the Holy Spirit and
ordained by the PAW to preach and teach the gospel. District Elder Hughes has held
many positions in the church including usher, deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He
has taught for Aeon Bible College at the Kansas City, Missouri extension. District Elder
Hughes was the Treasurer of the Northwestern District Council Men’s Ministry for two
terms and also served as the NWDC Men’s President for two terms. He served as the
Treasurer of the IMMA of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World for two terms under
the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Roscko Motes. In 2013 he was elected President of
the IMMA of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. In 2016 Elder Hughes was elevated
to District Elder for the Kenyan Diocesan under Bishop Carl Turner.
He is actively involved with civic organizations such as UNCF United Negro College Fund
Advisory Board for Kansas City, Urban Financial Service Coalition, and the Kansas City
Black Achievers Society. Elder Hughes has also served on the Kansas City Mayor’s Task
Force on Race Relations, the Urban League’s Top Notch Board, and the National Advisory
Board for Diversity Improvement at Morgan Stanley.
District Elder Tommie R. Hughes was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where he
attended Christ Temple Apostolic Church. District Elder Hughes is third generation
Pentecostal.. District Elder Hughes now resides in Shawnee, Kansas and is the proud
father of four children Ninesha, Kristin, Bree, and Thomas Trevor.
